What you can sign up for in Japan, on which plan, and where the only route is an agent you host yourself.

This page sets out which of the five major personal agents are open to you in Japan today, and which plan each one needs. Makers revise their country lists often, so treat what follows as a starting point and confirm on the maker's own site before you pay for anything.

Gemini Spark

Top plan only

Spark comes only with Google AI Ultra here, costing $99.99 or $199.99 a month, though Google has promised to extend it to Pro later.

Claude

Available

Anthropic sells Claude here, and its agent features start on the $20 Pro plan, with the Max plans for heavier work.

OpenClaw

Run it yourself

You host OpenClaw yourself, so it runs here as it would anywhere; what matters is whether a model provider will serve you, or whether you use a local model.

Not available in Japan

Muse. Meta has opened Muse only to adults in two North American countries so far and has named no date for launching anywhere else.

It is tempting to reach a blocked agent through a VPN or a borrowed foreign account, but it puts you in breach of the provider's terms. If the account is closed, the agent's memory, rules and history go with it, and cards issued in one country often fail at another country's checkout. Where no official plan exists, OpenClaw on your own hardware, with a model you may legally use, is the route that lasts.

Our sources cover where each plan is sold, not what happens on a short trip abroad, so if you rely on your agent, read the maker's help pages before you go. Much of the work happens away from your device in any case: a Dot and Gemini Spark run in their makers' clouds, and OpenClaw keeps running on its own machine, reachable through Telegram or another chat app.
