September 8, 2026 Meta unveiled Muse on 8 September, pitching it as a personal agent for the errands of daily life: shopping, selling on Facebook Marketplace, planning and handling messages. It can be reached inside WhatsApp and through a new standalone app, whose iPhone version 9to5Mac covered, as well as in a Mac app and at muse.ai, with the same memory carried across all of them. Usage is counted in weekly allowances of tokens, not in tasks. The free tier grants 100 million tokens each week; Muse Power raises that to 500 million for $20 a month, and Muse Maximum to 3 billion for $100 a month, with identical features on the two paid tiers. A payment card must be added even to use the free tier. Muse is restricted to adults who live in Canada or the US, and Meta has given no dates for other countries. Each account runs on its own Muse Secure VM in Meta's cloud. Within weeks the app had climbed to first place on the App Store, and it had also run into its first incidents, from a dispute with Amazon to a user's disclosed address. What it means for you For adults in Canada or the US, Muse is the least expensive route into a big-lab agent.
