On 16 September 2026 the agent abilities of Cowork and Design moved into ordinary conversations, so there is no longer a separate mode to choose. The entry ticket is Claude Pro, $20 a month or $17 with yearly billing, while heavier users can move to Claude Max for $100 or $200. Anthropic sells it across its entire footprint, Britain and the EU among them; mainland China and Russia are the notable gaps. ## From brief to finished file A day with Claude begins with a request of almost any size. Ask something quick and it simply answers; set it a piece of work due by a certain hour and it plans the job and carries it through step by step, continuing after you shut the laptop. Connectors pull in services like Notion, Google Drive, GitHub and Slack, while skills remember how you like recurring jobs done, a particular report layout for instance. What comes back at the end is a file you can edit: a report, a spreadsheet whose formulas actually work, or a slide deck ready for revision. ## Strongest on paper Claude is the most document-minded of the five. Research becomes a structured report, figures become a working spreadsheet, a brief becomes a presentation. Claude Docs and Claude Slides, a pair of beta apps launched alongside the merge, export to PowerPoint or PDF. Connectors, skills, recurring work and the browser abilities that once belonged to Cowork now travel into every conversation. It asks before acting in connected apps, and its reach is the broadest of the managed agents, which matters in Europe, where Spark is closed and Dots demands a business seat. ## What it will not do Claude is no errand runner. It does not shop, book or bargain with strangers, it has no presence in WhatsApp or other chat apps, and it will not go hunting for work on its own: tasks begin when you hand them over. The merged experience is also arriving gradually, reaching Claude Pro and Claude Max ahead of the Team and Free plans, so two people paying the same price may see different screens. Heavy users often graduate to Claude Max, $100 or $200 a month, where the Max 5x tier offers five times Pro usage in each five-hour session. ## Permission first Before it does anything inside a connected app, Claude seeks your permission, and each connector's scope is limited to its own workspace. Enterprise administrators are told of changes 30 days before they land. The practical risk is quieter than a rogue purchase: each extra connector broadens the material Claude can see, and the documents it writes may quote from files you linked.
